PIANO SOUNDBOARDS
Magdalenas’ Soundboards is proud to offer the Piano
Rebuilding and Restoration Industry our custom
made grand piano soundboards.
Manufacturered in Fort Edward, New York at our
15,000 square foot facility. We operate a custom saw
mill including band saws, resaws, planers, jointers,
stroke sanders, drum sanders and custom milling
equipment for manufacturing custom soundboards,
bridge caps and pinblocks.
Our Grand Piano Soundboards are certain to provide
you with unsurpassed quality and evenness of tone
throughout the piano. Our soundboards are
constructed with hand selected, quarter sawn Sitka
Spruce. The selection process of our wood is what
sets us apart from other soundboard makers that
focus on production.
For the professional rebuilder we offer the very best
in quality matched pieces of Sitka Spruce to make
each soundboard panel we sell, the Singing Voice of
Your Piano.
Magdalenas’ Soundboards are made with the same
wood that Steinway uses, and we match each piece
of spruce, for color and clarity. These hand select
pieces are assembled in our special soundboard panel
press and then packaged and shipped throughout the
United States to piano rebuilders and restoration
specialists.
Our piano soundboards are constructed using a
method of tone testing, and tone matching both the
soundboards and the ribs for each grand piano
soundboard we construct.
The custom voicing of our soundboards and ribs will
give your piano the upper edge over other
soundboards.

Our Spruce is selected and dressed to proper thickness and edge-glued on our
special soundboard press. From experience, we have found that hot hide glue,
traditionally used in making soundboard panels by Steinway & Sons, is far
superior to any modern adhesive for this application. It does not lead to
problems with ridging and eventual cracking at the glue joint.
